GNUPlot

One of the tools that I use extensively is GNUPLOT. I actually don’t like plating with excel or word. The way they let you design graphs and plots is limited, specifically if you want to customize it damn alot. Most of us wanted to come out with beautiful graphs, and be able to make it the way we want, but you may not be able to do whatever you want in GUI tools. Me as a PhD student need to prepare so many graphs for my papers. Most of the time you don’t have enough space in one paper and you need to reduce the graphs size as much as possible, and at the same time make them clear enough for the audiences.

I have found GnuPlot, a shell script tool, sophisticated enough where you can do whatever you want. By whatever I really mean it. It’s the most advance graphing tool I’ve ever seen. The learning curve is a little bit high, and most people give up in the beginning. I also really worked hard to learn it with a good enough level accuracy. I found it useful to share bunch of scripts with the graphs, to make it easy for other people to learn. Most of the graphs I’ve prepared are the ones that you may need in you papers and also you can’t find them straightforward on the web. They actually contain those strategic parameters you may need. Below is the link you can use to access my files:

I really didn’t know where to start to introduce this thing. It’s still even a mystery for myself. I hope you find my scripts useful and enjoy it. Feel free to send me a message if you need any help or if you have any suggestion.
